Natural stones and crystals make up the majority of the jewelry on this site. However, there are exceptions. Due to the delicate nature of some stones, and to control costs, some stones used, such as opal, are manufactured, dyed or enhanced.
Also keep in mind that natural stones have imperfections, and each stone will be unique. Some stones are harder or more durable than other stones. Softer stones such as calcite and fluorite can be scratched with a knife.
In addition to copper wire, some designs use silver-plated copper, sterling silver, stainless steel, or other plated metals.
Designs using copper will be oxidized and polished for an antique look but will continue to tarnish over time and will need to be polished again.
